KUALA LUMPUR: Bayo Pay (M) Sdn Bhd has developed a digital salary disbursement platform, which can benefit all contractors and construction personnel who have registered with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
In a statement, the fintech company said the Construx Payroll Platform is available at no cost to all contractors and construction personnel who have registered with CIDB, as the solution is provided as an enhancement part of the CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (CIDB Green Card) Enhancement Programme.
With Construx Payroll, the construction companies can now pay salaries directly to their employees into its employees’ CIDB Green Card and Construx mobile wallet app, designed for all contractors and construction personnel registered with CIDB in Malaysia.
The dual- function smart Green Card, introduced in 2019, is a card – an identification card and a Mastercard co-branded prepaid and/or salary card.
It is linked to the Construx Wallet, a Mobile Wallet App with a wallet size of RM10, 000, and downloadable for free on Apple Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
With the CIDB Green Card and Construx Wallet, employees are able to make bill payments and purchases online and at any merchants that accept Mastercard.
Minister of Works Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said, “We see the launch of these additional features linked to the CIDB Green Card as very timely to embrace the new norm of cashless transactions in line with the government’s aim to go cashless by 2022, under the recently launched MyDigital blueprint.
To date, more than 600, 000 CIDB Green Cards have been distributed to registered construction personnel all over Malaysia and is expected to reach up to one million mark as the industry recovers, post pandemic.
CIDB Malaysia chief executive Datuk Ahmad Asri Abdul Hamid said, “The launching of the Construx digital platform addresses the challenges previously faced by construction companies in having to pay construction workers’ salary in cash because many foreign workers especially, are unable to open bank accounts.
“Additionally, the platform also provides convenience to those living in remote areas where banks may not be easily accessible.”
According to Bayo Pay CEO Aznul Abdullah, “Through our latest Construx solutions, we aim to facilitate all stakeholders and the construction personnel themselves.
“As CIDB’s exclusive digital partner, we aspire to accelerate the digital transformation of the industry via a continuous introduction of more value-added services especially in the digital payment space, ” he added.
On top of the payment features, among the new features in Construx Wallet are the CIDB-related functions namely CIDB E-ID, site attendance, online training and e-report for site incidents.
